I liked the characters as they were funny, witty, warm and brave. I liked the detailed and creative fantasy world building and how well thought out the fictional world’s history is. The references to Welsh culture and the Welsh language are great, and the way music is so important to the plot, worldbuilding and the protagonist is brilliant. This book is like an old friend or a comfortable and well kept old house, you will want to re-read it again and again. Full of heart, love and humour, this is one epic fantasy many people would enjoy and remember.

In the last year I've read over 40 Fantasy titles in my free time. The Symphony of Ages is the most pleasurable reading I've picked up since David Gemmell's "White Wolf".
After defeating the Shing and Rhakshas, Rhapsody,Achmed, Grunthor, and Ashe still have on final task to peform in order to fulfill the prophecy of the 3 and bring peace to the land of Roland Find and kill the F'dor!
Pursued by enemies and with her friends at each others throats, Rhapsody is forced to take much of the battle on to herself in a final showdown where she must confront her greatest enemy and her worst fear.
I couldn't put this book down, if you loved the other two then this is a must read.
Riveting. Fun even the subsequent time around. beautiful artwork on the cover. An imaginative, creative, unique read. Flows well, keeps the reader.
The first two books of this series were an incredible read, a true all night page turner! The characters are a wonderful patchwork of personalities that meshed together to create a well rounded storyline and a unique world. Unfortunatly the (beaten over the head) plot device went one book (maybe even just half a book) too far in this readers opinion. Perhaps I have just read one too many stories where the real plot disolves into a new/old one based around a romantic relationship that keeps dragging out across an entire series (I must thank Terry Goodkind for souring me on this plot device). On the brighter side of things I found Rhaps to be a truly endeering character with an inner warmth and depth that shined brightly even through the adverse and tragic advents that surrounded her life.
Destiny Child of the Sky is the third and final book in the Symphony of Ages trilogy, which is part of a longer series. This is the continued saga of Rhapsody, Achmed, and Grunthor as they search for the demonic F'dor that seeks to destroy everything the Three hold dear, and even the world itself.

Following Destiny are two bridge books, Requiem for the Sun & Elegy for a Lost Star, then another trilogy (which is incomplete as of June 2014) that includes The Assassin King and The Merchant Emperor.
Been loving this series, have been absorbing the first three books and immensely enjoying it. It seems that the three I've read were originally a trilogy so I'm definitely wondering what will happen now! Love the characters and the length/depth of the book itself. Highly recommended.
The third novel of the Symphony of Ages series sweeps up into high-fly events like never before! We are transported back into Haydon's wonderful world, where Rhapsody, Achmed and Grunthor continue there quest and fulfill the Prophecy.
The time is drawing near to bring the Cymrians back together under a new leader and the destruction of the F'Dor. Rhapsody is faced with some difficult times while battling to forget Ashe so he can perhaps reclaim the leadership and glory of the Cymrians. Achmed is still as difficult to understand and deal with, and Grunthor is as jolly as ever.
The story brings us in to Achmed and Rhapsody, who set-off to capture the F'Dor spawn and ether assassinate them (as Achmed demands) or save them somehow. Rhapsody is faced with this dilemma when she decides to take them to the Rowands, ancient people that dwell in the spiritual world between life and death. Ylorc is slowly rising to it's former glory under the care of Achmed the snake and Grunthor the Sergeant Major, and things aren't looking too good.
The romance in Destiny is almost as suffocating as it was in Prophecy, but the three main characters are fleshed out well. Ashe is a key player in this book as in P, and Anwyn is becoming more and more dangerous.
Haydon doesn't leave that many questions unanswered, but Requiem for the Sun brings more into view. Achmed is still mysterious, but I think she ties up things quite nicely with Destiny's end. We learn more of Meridion, who comes into scene a couple of times. Anborn shows as well, and fulfills the mad seers Prophecy hinted at in Rhapsody.
What I liked most about Destiny was when the three faced-off against the F'Dor, one of the main points of the series. And the Cymrian council and declaration of the new Lord and Lady Cymrian. We start to see the changes that Meridion has made, and things had turned out a lot better than it did in the Old Timeline. While the Rhapsody Trilogy has come to a nice close, the series continues on to the next two, "the-between-books," of the series Requiem for the Sun and Elegy for a Lost Star. There is one key-element that hadn't been seen through War is coming, whether the people like it or not. As it was noted in earlier books, things were set in motion that could not be undone. Things are still uneasy among the nations, like Sorbold or Roland. The series isn't over yet, it has only begun. And while some argue that the series SHOULD had ended right there, it would be a bad ideal on Haydon's part. What many are missing is that one key-element, though the Lord and Lady Cymrian have brought the people back together, there are places that are still uneasy and itching to draw blood...
I've enjoyed listening to and reading this book . The three, Rhapsedy, Achmed and Gunthor, move forward toward their destiny according to the prophesy. Their is much action involved in their meeting up with the d'for, more still after Rhapsedy blows the horn and brings about the conclave where she strives to bring peace .. Can she do it? Will she get her memory back in time before marrying someone else? Read the series to find out.
